Time for Shitfest soon! Get the flotsam from your video portfolio ready for L.A.’s only MONTHLY video competition where you win $100 for having the WORST PIECE OF SHIT video of the night!
To enter Shitfest:
1-Immediately Send an email to chris@garagecomedy.com with the subject: “Shitfest Entry” in the body of the email please include: the Title of your piece, your name and the date of the Shitfest you’d like to enter
2-On the day of Shitfest (last monday of every month) come to El Cid by 8pm to check in with Chris Romero. Make sure you bring:
*DVD copy of your video - your entry piece should be the only thing on the dvd, please avoid fancy dvd menus, make sure your dvd plays on a home dvd player, entries should be around a minute in length ( a little shorter or longer is fine) please (clearly) write your name & title of your entry on the front of the dvd
*$5 entry fee - please bring cash - This goes to pay the winner.
*lots of friends - the audience votes on the winner by ballot. plus the show is free, there’s $3 Tecate there’s no drink minimum and plenty of free parking.
If you can’t be at Shitfest in person, that’s okay! You can make arrangements to get your entry in the contest anyway. Just email chris@garagecomedy.com and let him know your situation.
You video will be screened during GarageComedy.com the Show along with all of the other entries. Usually there is “industry” in the crowd so there is a chance that you can strike a deal with your piece. Don’t worry though, GarageComedy.com does not own your video, nor are we looking to purchase it. We screen it once in front of a live audience and that’s it. You can have it back at the end of the show.
How can we afford to give away $100 every month while not charging the audience a cover at the door and not having a drink minimum? SIMPLE!
Each entry must be submitted with a $5 entry fee. Trust us, no one is getting rich showing videos made on cell phones and men caked in mud free-styling industrial avant-beat poetry.
So bring:
- Your DVD (if you want it back pick it up from Chris Romero after the competition otherwise we throw them away)
- $5 Entry fee per video
- Bravery
- Friends
